Once upon a time, a businessman lived with his three daughters. The businessman was in love with his three daughters. One day he had to go to another country for some work, before leaving the businessman called his three daughters to him and asked, "My dear girls, tell me what should I bring from abroad for all three of you?"
The first daughter ordered beautiful clothes and the second daughter ordered jewelry. The third daughter, whose name was Beauty, asked her father to bring a rose flower for her. The merchant promised his three daughters to bring them gifts and set out on his journey. When the merchant went towards his home after finishing his work, he got caught in a storm and lost his way. Even after many attempts, he could not find the way to his home, by then it was already dark. Then suddenly his eyes fell on a light which was coming from a palace far away. The merchant thought that he might find a place to spend the night in the palace, so he went in that direction.
When the merchant reached the palace, there was no one in the palace. He looked everywhere but could not find anyone in the palace. It was surprising that many types of delicious dishes were kept on the dining table, but no one was seen to eat them. Seeing the food, the businessman's hunger had increased, so he ate full stomach and slept on soft mattresses in a room. In the morning, when the merchant saw beautiful roses blooming in the garden of the palace, he remembered the promise he had made to Beauty. He plucked a flower and started going towards the house when a terrible creature appeared there and said, “I let you eat my food, sleep on my soft mattresses and you are plucking roses from my own garden. You will have to face the punishment for this.” The businessman was very scared, said tremblingly “I am sorry! forgive me!! Do not kill me. I didn't pluck this rose for myself, I plucked it for my daughter. I had promised my daughter that I would bring roses for her." On hearing this, the demon told the merchant that he would release him on one condition, he would have to send his daughter to the palace. Scared and nervous, the businessman left from there, promising to send his daughter. On reaching home, the businessman told his daughters everything and apologized to Beauty, saying, “To save my life, I did not understand anything at that time and I came by making this promise to the demon. I'm sorry beauty! Forgive your selfish father!!" Beauty hugged her father and comforted him, "Don't worry, father, I will definitely keep my promise."
When Beauty reached the palace, she was very nervous, seeing the terrible face of the monster, she was very scared. But the demon welcomed him with an open heart. The demon gave her the best room in his palace to live in, and while Beauty sat in front of the fire embroidering, the demon would sit and watch her for hours. Gradually, both started liking each other's company and they became good friends. Now both of them would talk to each other all day and be happy. The demon was very fond of Beauty and wanted to marry her, but was afraid that Beauty would never want to marry a demon. Mustering great courage, one day he decided to speak his heart to Beauty. When he reached Beauty, he saw that Beauty was very sad remembering her father. He could not see Beauty's sadness and he gave Beauty a magic mirror so that she could see her father. Beauty was very happy, but when she saw her father, he was very ill. Seeing this, Beauty expressed her desire to the demon to meet her father. The demon allowed him to meet his father and asked him to return in seven days. Beauty promised to come in time and went to her home. The businessman was happy to see Beauty in front of him and as soon as he came to know that the monster may be cruel to look at but he is very good and kind at heart, the businessman's health kept improving. Beauty didn't even know when the seven days had passed in the happiness of meeting the family.
One day Beauty dreamed that the demon's condition was very bad and was going to die soon. The very next day she returned to the palace and found that the demon was lying motionless in the garden as if he had died. Beauty cried on seeing him, “Don't leave me, I love you very much and want to marry you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." As soon as Beauty uttered these words, a light enveloped the demon, and when the light disappeared, the fierce and ferocious-looking demon was transformed into a handsome prince. The prince told that an evil sorceress had turned him into a demon and only true love could break the spell. For a long time, the prince was looking for that girl, who would love him in the form that everyone was afraid of, who would love his qualities and not his looks. At last, the prince found his true love and was very happy. Soon Beauty and Rajkumar got married and they started living happily in their beautiful world like roses.
Moral of the story- This story teaches us that we should not judge someone's character by looking at their face. The outer form of a person is just a show-off, a person is loved by seeing his pure heart, and his qualities.
